I'm not sure where to put this thread or if it feels relevant to anyone at all. However, we can probably agree that what has brought us together here is the hopeless wobbling offer EA has given us as a replacement for defunct old forum. So what is the status of an improved EA Forum? This update provides some of the fixes that are being worked on. I also see that feedback is still being requested, even though countless forum members have already repeated detailed feedback for months. Before and after the Forum was established. I am left with a feeling that the essentials relating to the unfriendly forum layout, the focus on the most likes, recent, viewed ect. and the terrible nested answers are never going to change. I'm still hoping for a miracle. An update on the EA forums.

Thanks for sharing the link MonaSolstraale. I hope, even if the EA site improves, that SnuffyBucket will be willing to keep this one going as well. I like it here a lot.

GlacierSnow I hope so too. I love this Forum and have no thoughts of leaving it 😊 However, I still think there is a need for an official forum that has more to offer than the volatile topics on Discord and X/Twitter.

Thanks for sharing the link MonaSolstraale . I hope, even if the EA site improves, that SnuffyBucket will be willing to keep this one going as well. I like it here a lot. I second that. I've been here less than an hour and I already feel more at home than I did on the EA site. I've offered my feedback on their efforts and I remain baffled that the EA site was even allowed to go live in its current state.

I've felt more at home here today than I have since the old frum closed for good. Should have come here sooner than I did.

MonaSolstraale , I found that update a few days ago as well (after spending half a hour searching that forum, to then notice the post was made several days earlier), and I didn't find it very encouraging either. At this point I start to think that the chosen platform doesn't allow for enough customization to accomodate all the users' requests. The "no pages" "nested replies" structure seems quite central, at this point I think it's unlikely for them to bring pages back (and I remain of the idea that pages would make a ton of difference). Also, it's just me or that forum is now filled with game bugs reports? The old good funny threads are almost buried at this point, for sure the atmosphere on the official forum changed a lot :/ On the bright side, this is just another good reason to hang around this forum instead!

I too am pretty pessimistic about things changing radically enough on the official forum for it ever to feel like the place it used to be. I’m sure a lot of things will get better — but to me it seems (as plenty of others have pointed out in feedback there) that the fundamental design and structure isn’t suited to the kinds of ongoing discussions we used to have, and that’s not going to change. It’s a huge shame. It feels dead and lifeless to me, and I think many simmers have gone and won’t come back. Maybe a new Sims 4 roadmap will liven things up in the Sims 4 area for a bit, but every time I visit the forums I feel I’m missing interesting comments I’ll never be able to find. I’m very glad this forum exists and familiar names and faces are finding a haven here, but I so wish it wasn’t necessary and we didn’t all have to get broken up like this.

First of all I would like to say thank you very much for making this forum snuffybucket . And also MonaSolstraale for being a mod. It's not an easy job. About the update on EA forums. Yes I still go on them. I don't really think it's ever going to be user friendly. It feels to me like it's just for bug reporting. Also I have a feeling that AHQ might close down and everything will move over to the EA Forums. I could be wrong though.. I hope I am

pacer1965 I really hope you're not right about AHQ 😖 Over time, I have learned to orientate myself in it and I think it works quite well. However, I can share your fear 😬

pacer1965 MonaSolstraale I'm concerned about AHQ as well. It's one of the reasons I decided to archive my comics on a non EA platform.

I've also noticed that all troubleshooting requests on EA's Forum aren't being consistently directed to AHQ like before. It is a worrying sign 🤔 caerfinon I think it's a really good choice. I reached the same conclusion in 2018 when the Danish EA Forum was deleted. It is a great reassurance to know that you have control over how long your stories have value. (But if Imgur suddenly starts charging money to store images....then I'm in real trouble 😬)

Unfortunately, it sounds like the AHQ forum will also eventually be migrated over to the new forum some time in the future as well. This reply by "puzzlezaddict" suggests it may be in the works: Even though this "puzzlezaddict" is only a 'hero', maybe they're privy to some behind the scenes knowledge that others aren't? Link to that thread: Why are Answers HQ members forced to start over?I guess it makes sense that they'll eventually move any and all EA related forums/boards to one place, under one umbrella.... it's just too bad they chose such a horrible forum/board design and layout to use as their 'EA games catch-all hub'. I'm sure they'll iron out the wrinkles (site glitches) slowly over time, but let's be perfectly honest here.... you can't fix bad design, you can only scrap it completely and start again from scratch. The endless scrolling (instead of pagination) and nested replies (instead of chronological order posts) are embedded in the original basic design of the site, so those two main problems for most of us will always be a permanent fixture and thus, will never be changed (unless they scrap the entire design layout and start with a different one). And so, here we all are lost on the big sea, known as the internet, trying to find a new home where we can all reconnect with our fellow simmers once again. Oh and by the way.... Hi everyone! Glad to find this place! *waves to all the lost denizens of our beloved old forum* Perhaps a thread could be created in the Forum Announcements section where newcomers can introduce themselves? Maybe call it "Introduce Yourself Here" or something similar? Just a thought.... Anyways, happy to see familiar faces/names/avatars once again!

Thanks!
Apparently I'm blind as a bat and didn't even notice the Intro section until after making my post.
