I have decided to discontinue my use of the new EA forums entirely. The technical issues are frustrating but by and large I find them to be very isolating and not conducive to finding and building community. This is pretty odd coming from an introvert, but life is funny that way.

Just to clarify, I'm not knocking the gaming simmers but back on the old forums I stopped following gameplay threads after a while because they had little to offer me, and it was easy to do because of the way that old site was designed. You picked and chose what you wanted to read. The new format makes that harder so the gameplay discussions, as they are more numerous, dominate. And the moaners just keep on moaning. Thank you for clarifying. How you worded the original post gave me impression that you said simmers were the problem (not being creative enough because they "only" play the game) , not the forum platform, why my defense got up. I naturally meant no bad either. Thank you.

What cyncie said above resonated with how I’ve ended up using the new official forum: I don’t blame anyone for giving up altogether.

I haven't officially given up, but sims stuff is a fun thing in my life, not a job or an obligation, so I only do the things that seem like fun at the moment. The official forums have seldom seemed fun in the moment, so I'm not visiting them as much.
I do find it fun to track and catch bugs. I don't know why, some people like to catch all the pokemon, my brain likes to catch all the bugs. And other people seem to find it helpful. So I'll probably still go back there at least to make and update my "how broken is it" threads. (I can also cross-post those here.)
