Hi, I just wanted to say how refreshing it is to come here and see a proper forum with a traditional forum format that is quick to load pages, easy to navigate and easy to read. Well done for setting this up! I haven't abandoned the official forums and am still hoping they might improve. But I can't express how much of a relief it is to have somewhere so much easier to come to for a change.
Fyi, I'm not a story writer but do enjoy dipping into others' stories from time to time. I also love looking at screenshot threads, for all iterations of the Sims, so the structure you have in place here appeals to me and I hope others may come over and join in.

As a (former) frequent poster on the What Happened In Your Game Today thread, I think that on the one hand it was fun to see "in a nutshell" updates from people on their games, in a more casual form than one would find in a story thread. Because everyone's updates occurred all in one thread there was social pressure to keep things short and also to respond to each other's updates. On the other hand, the fact that many posters did go out of their way to respond to absolutely every post meant that the thread accumulated new posts really fast, and I think a lot of people found it not-fun and maybe didn't participate-- or at least it seemed that the thread was often dominated by just a few people.
I also liked getting an occasional update from stories where I might not always have time to read every post in their story thread, but the occasional note there was fun. One drawback of the old forum format was, if you read a story thread through to somewhere in the 12th post on page 6, and then had to leave off, the next time you went to read the thread it would start not where you were but with the 1st post on page 7. Then you'd have to go back and find where you were on page 6. Then the next time you went to read the thread, you would get not the 15th or 16th post on page 6 but the first post on page 8. So trying to read story threads from the beginning could be hard.

Hi mightysprite I remember well that some updates in the old forum's WHIYGT almost ended up being updated stories, while others consisted of one or two pictures with funny or weird experiences. I don't really think that we should make rules about how such a thread should be interpreted. I haven't used the thread very much myself because that would be giving out spoilers for Tusnelda's story. If you ask if it is allowed to start your own story with daily experiences in the Story thread, I will definitely say yes. I don't think you need to interpret a story particularly ambitiously with a script and a focused subject. It could be given a title such as My current game or similar. I myself have considered making such an unstructured story about the families in my test game, because in periods of many updates I play more in the test game than my current story game. Right now I'm not into any of the games because all my time is spent with so much else. I don't know if this answer makes it any clearer for you, otherwise you are very welcome back ๐

(Nevermind) It would also be very nice to have all the โreactionโ buttons that they took away from us at the old forum, agree, disagree (or zagadoo, a polite disagree), like, love, helpful, lol (oh how we missed our lols). My other suggestion would be Sims 3 having a separate creative corner, which I discussed with Mona on the EA forum and understand her response. Trying out smilies

Hey all, can I please request that each new suggestion get its own thread? It's much easier for me to make a 'to-do' list that way.

Sorry if this has been addressed and I missed it (brain fog is kicking up again... I could miss a battleship sailing through my living room), but is there a way to go to the "latest unread post" on a thread? I seem to always get dropped on the first post and need to scroll down, which gets hard on longer threads.

If you select Participated, you will see a small box open. These links lead directly to the latest post. NB: If I don't answer your question completely, we have to get hold of SnuffyBucket She can change the settings

MonaSolstraale, OK... that seems to work. Not exactly intuitive but still leaps and bounds ahead of that other place. (Suddenly tempted to call it The Bad Place...

LOL I assume you've grown a bit thin-skinned after boxing with EA's site for two months ๐ You will also find direct links to last post in the right side menu on the front page. If that doesn't cover it, Snuffy probably has a more comprehensive answer.

luciusstorm MonaSolstraale you can hop to the last post from the board list too, by clicking anywhere in the box under 'last post' (except on the username link) Getting it to load automatically at our last read posts is also my preference and is definitely on the to-do list.

luciusstorm You can also go to the first unread post in a thread by clicking on the little black "New" to the left of the thread title.

mightysprite Wow! Thanks! That works perfectly. I never would have realized we could even do that.

This is just an idea - Maybe we could make it a habit to write either TS4 or TS3 (or TS2 if there are any) in the titles of eg storytopics etc, those in the shared parts? This would make it easier for those who strongly prefer one over the other to sift through without waiting everytime for pictures to load. I've already added (TS3) to my own story.

I feel like that's something people can do if they want to, but it shouldn't be expected or required. I like how we're all just mingling easily with each other right now.
