Caerfinon, I enjoyed the animations for the battle... ...other than the fact that the infected just wandered around, seemingly not doing anything. I evidently missed them killing Lucius.
Yes, Lucius actually died, in game. I don't know what happened. Like Molly, I was focused on the Mother. Like Molly, I just looked around after the fight and he was laying there.
Sometimes, the game hands you things you didn't expect. Sometimes it completely wreaks your plans. Sometimes it does exactly what you wanted it to do... and you bloody miss getting the blessed screenshots.

Gosh! 😖 I was just about to write my congratulations with a hint that it is not a given that you succeed in fighting the mother beast the first time. Now it seems that the sweetness of victory is not obvious 😕 Oh no! Lucius of the Luxurious Hair appears to have been knocked to the ground. I await in nervous tension what is to come. NB: Here is a flower to cheer up the mood. I found it online the first time I played the Stragerville mystery. Don't ask me what species it is, but it gave me the feeling that it might be related to the mother.

luciusstorm The zombie sims can attack and harm any of your sims during the battle. You can keep them distracted with the "warbling cry" or if one of your team is down, you can command another team mate to go and take care of them until they revive. It's easy to miss in the fight as there is a lot of stuff going on.

That was action packed, awesome 👏 Maybe I'm reading too much into it but what does that mean? Whose King 👀 The ending 😵💫

MonaSolstraale, I guess I either got lucky or did the battle correctly. It was fun to play. That is one freaky looking plant. Caerfinon, yeah, they really just seemed to wander around, which is why I went with the idea that the potion made the Mother confused and disoriented. I expected them to be more threatening for some reason. Too much Skyrim probably. blueseawaves, I'm very gratified you found it "action packed." I'm not great at writing fight scenes. The beginning and end of my own "fight" experience involves fencing and I don't get to do a lot of sword fights in Wyrd Tales (though I have recently found a mod...) One of these days, I want to explore the history and society of my "sim nation."
One thing I have decided is that it is a constitutional monarchy. There is a bicameral legislature and a head of state (president? prime minister? I'm undecided) but also an old-world aristocracy (Count Straud IV is actually a member of the Windslar peerage) and a monarch.
I think I put a throw away mention to "Queen and Country" in one of Bella's backstory scenes in Raven's Apprentice. Roughly fifty years later, they now have a king. The relationship between the current king and King Nuada Silveroak is... interesting. I believe I made an oblique reference to Claudette Faust's mother's family, the Blackwoods, as being an old Windenburg noble family and as well the remnants of one of the witch families. There is overlap. (Yes, Cassie was right the first time. Gwen is an elf princess.)
Long reply to a quick question. Yes, I have worked these things out, at least in broad outline, in my head. Yes, I am a geek.

luciusstorm As a subject/citizen of a constitutional monarchy, the head of state is always the monarch. If the state is rather large, or an empire, then different regions my have heads of state that are Governor Generals who represent the central monarch. These represent the executive branch of the state/kingdom but do not typically muck around with the details of governing. The Prime Minister is the head of government and wrangles the Parliament (Commons and Lords/Senate) and deals with the day to day. [end post with rousing singing of God Save The King, followed by The Maple Leaf Forever while RCMP officers perform the musical ride...] 🦁👑🦄

Caerfinon, thanks. I never can seem to keep Head of State and Head of Government straight. My knowledge the UK parliamentary system is largely derived from watching a lot of Yes, Minster and I honestly know nothing at all about the Candian government. I dubious benefits of a flawed education system.

luciusstorm I finally gave up and looked up what eldritch meant. I needed a refresher. 😁 I really enjoy your climatic fight scenes. I know the good guys are going to win, but you always include something totally unexpected. Speaking of which...Lucius! No!😲

Caerfinon, I grew up in Vermont which is like the United States but with maple syrup, and no billboards, and cows... lots and lots of cows. danirose, seemed like a fitting term. She certainly has a Lovecraftian horror vibe to me. Glad I can manage a surprise or two in a story.

luciusstorm I had a feeling it was something like that when you mentioned King in the last update. Hope you're able to potray it 😃 Would love to read some lore to your stories! I become geeky with that kind of stuff 😆

MonaSolstraale, I'm glad you liked it. I've got ideas for visiting these characters again, but I've got lots of other ideas too...
