New forum - who dis?
Hi there, I'm Netzspannung aka Netz-à-porter and I enjoy spending time in TS4 CAS!
I have alot of fun making outfits and this may turn out to be the place where I will post a lot of them from now on. So if you're looking for CAS inspiration, I hope you'll find this thread helpful. I post outfits that do not require CC.
Custom Content
We as a community know that we are blessed with some of the most creative and talented creators of custom content and mods in the world of video games. While I use a moderate amount of Maxis Match CC in my game, I will avoid CC in this thread for the most part with some exceptions: - Poses: Unfortunately this is something CAS does not provide and the animations can become repetitive. Most of them are made by Helgatisha some by Flower Chamber and Remaron. I do not make poses myself - Skin replacement: I have one default skin replacement, which is Lunaria by Nesurii - Eye replacement: I have one default eye replacement, which is Delicate Eyes by Plumbhead
I will continue to not do a lot of picture editing, as I would like to spend most of my time in CAS. The thread's purpose is to help with outfits, perhaps an extension of the 'Styled Looks' section in CAS, if you will. Also, I won't be starting from scratch here, but I do want this to be a comprehensive source for outfits made with all packs, which is why I will be revisiting some older themes and have some basic lookbooks focussing on outfit categories. I know this forum is still growing its membership at the moment, but if you happen to read this and have a request, do let me know!
I hope you'll find something you like!

For my first post here I wanted to do a bit of a bigger project. The idea was to create lookbooks for female, male and child Sims using a common theme. So you can of course use these outfits for single Sims, but if you want to dress a family the outfits will look good together without being matchy-matchy. I'm sure this makes little sense yet, so here is an example. This is a picture of the Robb siblings hanging out in the park. They look great together because they are all dressed in Pastel au Naturel, matching pastel & earth tone swatches. You can find the lookbooks below with the pack info!

Something about accessories I enjoy accessories – in real life and in The Sims. Since this is a Sims forum though, we will focus on accessories in TS4. I would like to give a few examples of how I use accessories to tie an outfit together. You can do this by matching the accessories with the outfit for a more harmonious effect or picking accessories that contrast the oufit for a more dramatic effect.
Accessorizing in TS4 can be a bit more frustrating than in real life. For example, not every top allows you to add necklaces and bracelets that will actually be visible and not every hairstyle can be combined with earrings. I hope I picked a few good examples below to explain how to do this. I also picked these combinations because they are very versatile and you can easily match these to several of your own outfits, if you know what style you’re going for.
| #1 Earrings – EL
#2 Earrings: DHD / Bracelet: GT
#3 Earrings: CoL / Bracelet: CoL
#4 Earrings: BG / Bracelet: SEA
#5 Earrings: HR / Bracelet: GTW
#6 Earrings: CL / Bracelet: FS Kit
#7 Earrings: BG / Bracelet: GTW
#8 Necklace: FR / Bracelet: GTW

#1: This is a case where a really cute sweater cannot be combined with a necklace or bracelets. You may have already noticed what I did instead – I matched the earrings with the belt. They also match the sandals in this outfit (which you view fully in my Pastel au Naturel lookbook). So if you are dealing with a top like this, check if you can’t match the earrings to other accessories like a belt or shoes.
#2: If you have both Dream Home Decorator and Get Together, remember this combo. Both the earrings and the bracelet come in several matchable swatches. This combo will look good with basic styles and understated elegance, clean lines. In this particular outfit the cold silver contrasts the warm earthy colors of the clothing as well as the Sim's complexion, elevating the whole ensemble.
#3: This is just a cute combo from the Country Living pack. It goes well with playful, romantic outfits and cottagecore. It is also an example of accessories picked in harmony with the clothing as the flower theme is continued on the jeans (which you view fully in my Pastel au Naturel lookbook).
#4: The combo of the feather earrings and the seashell bracelet goes with a lot country style and folkloristic-inspired styles. The bracelet also picks up the blue of the shirt and accentuates it.
#5: I use this bracelet all the time as it comes in many versatile swatches. Depending on which other accessories you combine it with it goes with basic and street style, but also country and bohemian inspired outfits. In this outfit the earrings and bracelets blend in with the warm earthy tones of the rest of the clothing (which you view fully in my Pastel au Naturel lookbook).
#6: The CL earrings are great for formal and party outfits. With the addition of the Fashion Street Kit bracelets, you can finally have a great matching piece. Play with the swatches for a more harmonious or dramatic effect.
#7: This combo is great to elevate preppy and polished outfits. Pearls always add an air of sophistication and flatter every complexion. The GTW bracelet is one of my favourite accessory pieces in the game, the style is timeless.
#8: Same bracelet, different companion piece. There are a couple of other swatches that work as well with this combo. It works nicely with polished and preppy styles as well as formal wear.
