Decided to just post this here after a lot of umm-ing and ahh-ing. I've been writing it since 2022, and I had it hosted on the old forum until I took it down due to the subject matter becoming worse...I was cutting it close the entire time I had my story on there, to be honest 
At the moment, I'm only managing monthly uploads at best, so it's not being updated very quickly. I'm on the final Act, so it is near-ish to completion.

- If you're interested in reading, PLEASE read the CONTENT WARNINGS post first. Each chapter has its own content warnings at the top on each one anyway, but it's just a general idea of what to expect. Generally, there's a lot of death and murder and discussion of such things throughout, as well as some period-appropriate language and attitudes to certain identities from certain characters.
It is written in a typical 'prose' style, so the chapters can be fairly long at times.
Some years after her mother is burned for witchcraft, young witch Áine leaves her childhood home in search of a new life. Well aware of how many in Henford want her and all like her dead, she's determined to make positive change within this new community, with the help of new friends and new family. The threat to witches is a threat to everyone, whether they have magic in their blood or not. Áine's story is told alongside that of:
- a Peteran priest with a complicated identity and many secrets
- an expatriate arcane saleswoman striving to adhere to pacifism and selflessness in a country marred by violence and selfishness
- a duty-bound creature-of-the-night whose life is turned upside down when past, present and future collide
- the son of a draconian physician who works to undo the damage caused by his father, but who runs the risk of repeating the past mistakes of his ancestors
- Whilst it is of a historical nature, it is not entirely accurate to real life in multiple ways. It's based on a bunch of things from 1600s-1800s and some of the deco sims in the background are from a Medieval set, so...if you come into this expecting accuracy you won't get it.
