I relate to Zeph. For some reason when I'm physically ill, I tend to be more emotionally available, not sure why. So it means I come up with all these wild ideas and have mental energy to do them, but no physical energy...Then I get better, have the physical energy to do it but then the motivation just disappears. XC arieltriffic My way is sort of the same as yours, just write down whatever ideas come to mind and do some refining lateer if something makes a light bulb go off. Trouble is almost all of my writers' block is down to lack of motivation which is in short supply at the moment. I think part of it is the fatigue of almost being at the end of the finish line and getting impatient. XD

EvilBnuuy Oh, that's so true! I'm like that with so many things (getting really tired toward the end, that is) - projects, school. But you're almost there. So don't quit.

You ever see a really good story thing happen but miss your chance to screenshot it and you're just like Yes, definitely. And also I've had moments I wish I had video recorded.

You ever see a really good story thing happen but miss your chance to screenshot it and you're just like This is why I started what I call my "2nd Unit" save (named after the film concept of having an additional film crew shooting extra scenes). It's a copy of my main save which I use for "reshoots." If I didn't get the shot I wanted for an important story moment, I'd switch over to my 2nd Unit save and try to recreate the moment. Yes, it's more fun when those moments occur spontaneously but sometimes I really, really want a specific shot. Of course, the "danger" of that is that eventually a story can become all staged moments and no gameplay... but that can be fun too. There are so many different ways to do this crazy thing.

luciusstorm 2nd Unit saves are great. When doing a story where I need non-standard sets I have a game instance where New Crest is essentially a huge studio back lot where I can plunk down buildings designed for specific scenes.

You ever ponder your story and you just SEE the moodlets in the corner in your vision in bright green, light blue, and/or indigo from the kickbutt idea you just got? Great feeling

Status update: Spontaneous fire happened on a floor of the house that only existed for external decoration and was inaccessible. I ended up teleporting Arianna there, after which she wound up with a fear of fire that I felt was far too major an event to be unscreenshottable. So I just went back to the last save. Hate to have to do that, but sometimes these things happen 😕

I don't have a '2nd unit' save permanently, but I make and delete them as I needed, either for flashbacks or one for taking portraits of characters from their older-part-of-the-story designs or who are now dead, or testing CC out on. Because I know if I don't use a different save to do that either a time-travelling-from-the-past version of a character or one who's dead WILL appear in the background in the story and I won't notice. XD

I have a 2nd unit game which I use for any scenes set in a office block. I've duplicated a number of A game sims to put in it but all the background extras and townies wear business suits so that my office block which I built looks populated with corporate types.

I'm gonna go ahead and playfully make fun of myself: So I need to teach Arianna Simlish in Language Barriers for the story to continue. I was looking around and around and saw no option for Simlingo. Then I looked in my mods folder to hunt down the problem... and the LB folder was accidentally put inside another folder, meaning the ts4script didn't load properly! Yeah, that'd do it! We all have our derp moments.

Zeph Playfully making fun of oneself and then politely apologizing to any one in the vicinity is mandatory under Canadian law. The only exemptions are if you happen to be playing hockey at the time and then all bets are off until the game is over. 🍁🦫🏒🫎

I feel like Canada and the UK have the similar stereotype of politeness...only judging by the Canadians I've met online, it's actually accurate for Canada and completely inaccurate for the UK. XD My current issue is how long it takes me to do story screenshots because I use the T.O.O.L mod a lot. Having to get people into really specific spots, also moving around deco animals for scenes using it, and sometimes people will end up stood on tables or floating in the air or sometimes stuck in the ground with their legs poking out because I forgot to change the rotation axisIt's an amazing mod, but sometimes a bit time-consuming trying to make deco animals come to life somehow : P I have also been deleting and renaming some of my pose packs, and I have to be honest some people are really bad at labelling poses or pose packs or what they contain, it can be a bit of an issue. I need to do something about my pose packs anyway... I have approximately 1200 of them. I wish I was joking

EvilBnuuy I use T.O.O.L a lot too and my biggest gripe? When a moved object also decides to change elevation... and disappears straight into another one, where I can't grab it again. I swear the amount of pillows eaten by that bed... Or when it goes somewhere unexpected and I can't find it again. Like where's it go, did it fly into the sun??
