Thanks a lot for the comment mightysprite ! Last week I had a quite nasty infection, but luckily that kind of stuff tends to resolve by itself quite quickly and now I'm basically back to normal As for the chapter instead... I was actually a bit unsure about the timing of this chapter: this story-line is supposed to hit somehow close to home for readers, but when a similar disaster is occurring at the same time in the real world it risks to hit way too close. At the end, however, I decided to post it anyway because, somewhere in the world, there is some disastrous weather event every week, and so it's very unlikely to find a safe moment for talking about such topics (even more so in this season). Stepping out of the story, instead, many images I saw about the hurricane were very, very scary. I don't know exactly which part of the US you and other forum users are from, but in any case I hope you all managed to stay safe.

Just got caught up with 9.13 through 9.15!
A lot happens in these chapters! Petra seems to have a lot of her mother's independent spirit and bluntness. I felt a little sorry of Diego when Petra didn't like his cake (since they put in so much effort to get a replacement for the melted on. But, Gaia is right. Petra will have her own tastes.
I like Diego. He seems like a good guy, even if he's not too sure about kids. He keeps coming over too. So lucky that he was okay after that lightning strike!
Techna's self-inspiration is funny. I enjoy the little behind the scenes moments you share.

Thanks a lot for the comment GlacierSnow , as always! Chapters in this generation are usually covering a lot of sim-days, for sure there is always a lot going on!
Among other things, Petra often struggles with diplomacy, in particular now as a kid! And she definitively learnt a lot from her mom, too.
To me Diego was a very funny sim to have around and character to write, I was so relieved when he survived the lighting too! And also for the Millers I think it's nice to have him around, he's either telling travel stories or baking cakes for everyone. What else can you ask from a family friend?
Techna's lifestyle effects surprised me instead, I didn't expect this level of cross-pack gameplay (considering that robots and lifestyles were added at very different moment!)

Today was quite busy by Sunday standards, but here is chapter 9.16! ( link) This was actually a quite funny chapter to write, and I can't say much more XD

New chapter!
Oooo! I thought something was going on with Gaia and Diego. Seems like they were both kind of holding back. I totally get their reasons though. Interesting solution. There have been times when I really wished I had a teleporter too.

GlacierSnow , thanks a lot again! Gaia in particular wrote it quite openly a few times already, she really has a big crush for him! Anyway, even if Gaia never used this description, I would say those two are both a bit non-committal when it comes to romantic relationships, and they went for a not very committed relationship. Can it last? Who knows...
As for teleportation instead, I'm so jealous as well, in particular now that I live alone in a different country than my family!

I'm very slow with both posting and reading other stories these days, uhm... Anyway, here I am with chapter 9.17! ( link) It's time to focus a bit on the kids again: they grow so quickly in this game, before we notice they'll be grown up!

New chapter! Aww... Petra is so relatable for me. Preferring to study, and having a hard time making friends. But a couple good buddies who like to pretend things can go a long way. Looks like she might have made some good connections. She also is catching on to the fact that her mom is distracted by something (or someone ). Gaia should probably tell her something soon, or Petra might feel like she was being lied to when she finds out. Alec and Niko are adorable in their kid stage!

Thanks a lot for commenting GlacierSnow ! Petra was quite funny to write as a kid, and even more so when she is a bit older and she'll start writing her diary too! Will those two kids be featured in that diary too, however? Who knows, childhood friendships last for an extremely variable amount of time... We'll be back on Gaia more from the next chapter already. I'll just anticipate that this is another of those chapters where I used an unexpected scene to make plot-related choices

And here I am again with chapter 9.18! ( link) This was a fun chapter for me to write. Not so sure the Millers would agree with the description though.

I enjoyed this chapter a lot. Gaia and Diego's secret being outed by a flaming toilet! I love this story. Glad the kids took it well. They're probably very used to Diego by now.

Thanks a lot GlacierSnow ! I definitively didn't plan the toilet to catch fire, but how could I avoid to introduce it in the story? And, then, considering that Diego showed up in the fire's pictures in his pajama, what other outcome could I think of? As for the kids, I never had doubts about them liking him. He's the one who is always cooking and bringing cakes and cookies to them, after all

I'm so late with everything today, ouch... And the weekend is basically over already! Anyway, I at least managed to put together the next chapter, 9.19 is now out! ( link) I had to be very careful with this chapter, a lot of the hints left in this chapter will have consequences much, much, much later in the story

Chapter 9.18 such a typical TS4 plot point hahahahah I've never experienced the composting container situation... but I did have a spellcaster set a toilet on fire once with a failed Repairio spell! And then the fire spread to the puddle, and the firefighters had no idea how to put it out. Your writing about the kids' questions and struggles with their parents, and then the young adults' questions and struggles with their older relatives, is so great.

Thanks a lot for the comment mightysprite ! Now I'll have to pay attention to my spellcasters too then! XD XD
And thanks for the last comment too! In general I don't think to be great with kids in general (IRL I'm very bad at understanding them...), but in my place families like Diego's (and their endless questions) are very common, so I had a lot of examples I could take inspiration from!
